Re: makemymap: "a required privlege is not held by client" fix? Alternative: make a tgz manually

Conversion works great.

Error from fbzip: "unable to find:c:\users\john\appdata\local\temp\map.zip"

map.tga and coordinates.txt are in that directory.

I manually added the converted image and txt file to a zip, renamed it with .tgz, and it works on the pda in mymotion just fine.

Maybe a syntax error in the program? Is it looking for map.zip instead of map.tga?

makemymap: "a required privlege is not held by client" fix? Alternative: make a tgz manually

First of all, mymotion is an awesome application! It's exactly what I was looking for on my gps-enabled pda. If I can get the maps on the pda, it will be perfect.

running makemymap 1.43 on Vista Business SP1 I get "a required privlege is not held by client" even with UAC turned off.

A fix for that would be great, or you could tell me how to make the tgz by hand. I assume I just need a tga file and a coordinates.txt file with the GE extents for the exported image. I can make tga 16bit using PhotoShop, but will it work? Can you upload a coordinates.txt sample file so that I can duplicate that format? Do I just need to zip those two files into an archive then change the extension to .tgz and copy to the mymotion folder on the PDA?

I'd also like to upload maps from other sources since GoogleEarth doesn't have very good coverage for my area. I assume it's the same process, make a tga from any image and tell mymotion the extents in the coordinates.txt file, right?
