A file to see what you can get with mymotion

May 25, 2008 by jorma

I've been running with mymotion in my htc Touch (using it as an MP3 also). This file has been saved from the program in .kmz format and copied to the PC with the windows explorer.

Open the file with Google Earth. Select a lower speed (I forgot to change the car profile to the run profile).

By the way, why is my map some meters to the right? Is a GPS problem? should I fix manually the coordinates?
Is there any way to set the .kmz format as the default save format?

Hi Mymotion,

I think it crashed, but it really dissapeared. I tried to find it in the task manager but there wasn't any Mymotion running. I got no error message.

I've been driving with Mymotion and it has work good (the new version).

Mymotion crashed

May 18, 2008 by jorma

Hi all,

I've been checking mymotion while running through the countryside.

Friday: I load the map and I started running; I run for one hour, all was ok, til I came back to the city. I lost the signal, and the program crashed!. I got no error message, it dissapeared with all the data. I don't know if I had the program running too much time or it happened when the signal came in and out.

Saturday: I started Mymotion and began to run. Something strange was happening, I got signal but I couldn't see the map. I restarted the program, but I was without any map. I tried Tom Tom and it said that I was in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea (south of europe), so I suppose it was the GPS fault. I rebooted the device (HTC touch) and the GPS gave me the correct position, but I was home by that time.

If anyone has any idea, it will be welcome.

To mymotion:
- could it be possible to save the data every 2,4,5,10 minutes to prevent the loss of the data if the program crashes?

- could it be possible to see a previous route in the map? I'm thinking of making a route with Google earth and save the route only. I know you can already save the image map with the route and it will be displayed.

- could it be possible that the coordinates file take the values from the Makemymap window, in order to make some changes? By the way, to all the non english regional settings users: Check that the coordinates file in the .tgz have dots and NO COMMAS.

Hi all,

Device: HTC TOUCH CRUISE.
Operation system: Windows Mobile 6.0.

It works fine, it autodetects the GPS and get the satellites signal very fast.
I've been able to run my own maps, although I had to make them manually.

Check the file size. If it's only 181 bytes you only have the coordinates.
I've been trying the program a bit, although I had to use photoshop to make the squared .tga (and I got a Succes message), and MakeMyMap to get the coordinates.

By the way, if you have a "foreign" windows configuration (i'm from spain); take care of the dots and commas change. The coordinates must be with dots.

It took a few hours to have the program running.

How do you know the MakeMyMap version?

How does the program know which map should be displayed if you get 2 maps of the same zone (with different detail)?

P.D.: a great program, thx mymotion
