Hi All,

I have tried installing Mymoiton on a GPS that is running Win CE 5.0 but with no luck.

Do you think this is possible?

If not, I am looking for a simple application for my mountain bike. The GPS is a cheap Chinese model I purchased on e-bay for evaluation and now I thought it would make a good bike computer and GPS.

Thanks,

Chuck

Windows Mobile 5.0 or even 2003 should be fine, I test on both.
What exactly doesn't work? Is there an error message?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I have just run Mymotion on another GPS, but this one has an English version of WinCE 5.0. I get this error code straight after launching the application. "Cannot find 'mymotion' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and the all the libraries are available." I have been able to installed and run OziExplorer successfully. Thanks, Chuck

Do you really mean Windows CE 5.0 or do you mean Windows Mobile 5.0? They are not necessarily the same. Windows Mobile is the target platform for MyMotion.

If you use File Explorer and find the folder Mymotion installed to, then tap MyMotion - does it work then? I'm wondering whether the installation failed for some reason.

I really mean Win CE 5.0 and not Windows Mobile 5.0. I know some applications will run on both Operation Systems. I have been using File Explorer from the start. I have tried reinstalling, but same error. I take it that some versions of Win CE are cut down just to run the OEM application. Thanks for your help, I will keep looking around to see what else is out there. Regards, Chuck

Hi Chuck,

Here is the list of system dlls loaded by MyMotion on a Windows Mobile 2003 emulator, this might help you identify what is missing off your system:

tshres.96.dll
shutil.dll
shellres.dll
tshres.dll
commctrl.dll
aygshell.dll
cellcore.dll
oleaut32.dll
ole32.dll
ossvcs.dll
ws2.dll
coredll.dll
compime.dll

Hi,

I manage to find all the required dll files, not sure if the versions were all the latest though. Still no luck getting it going.

Any other thoughts?

Chuck

In my collection of gadgets have a Navman S50, which is not full Windows Mobile - possibly some version of WinCe, I was able to get MyMotion running using instructions from here: http://navmanunlocked.wikispaces.com/Install+Programs . Whilst not the same situation, some of the dlls and instructions listed in here might help you (maybe ExecutabilityCheck ?).

Well I got something working.

I found a much better application than ExecutabilityCheck and it works in WinCE unlike ExecutabilityCheck. You can get PEinfo for various platforms here.http://www.yetanotherhomepage.com/j7xx/files/peinfo.zip

MyMotion now starts and I can do the basics but it crashes and reports various messages as follows.

Fatal Application Error
Application
????? has performed an illegal operation....

Program

Exception: 0xC00000FD

Hi Chuck,

Exception: 0xC00000FD indicates "stack overflow". I have not seen this before.
What works prior to the crash and where does the crash actually occur?
Is there plenty of free memory (both program and storage)?

Just in case it is a difference in default stack space on Windows CE I have built a test version with much bigger reserved stack. I will send you a private message with download instructions.
