I got to MakeMyMap from a post on the Oziexplorer listserve. Creating a map has been no problem. Converting it to a format Ozi can use has me stumped. The ozi archives contain a message about MaspScan, a Unite Nations program which coverts between map formats, but it can no longer be found on their website.
Any thoughts as to how to proceed from here
Thanks

Hi Graham,
I don't think I can help much.
My philisophy was to make the map format I used simple and open, because my application is free. You can find the format of a .tgz here and on my main web page; it is just a zipped jpeg and coords files.
Commercial applications tend to use proprietary map formats that they don't make public. It locks people into their applications.
Since I don't know (and can't find out) the format of ozi map files a conversion either way is not possible by me.
You would be better off asking the author of Ozi if he would add a converter to read .tgz.
Why is it you want the map in ozi format? Have you tried using MyMotion ;-)

I should be able to work it out by manually applying the coords to the image file using the facility within Ozi.
I use a full PC in my vehicle - haven't graduated to PDA yet, hence I use Ozi. Also, I've got to the stage of being fairly familiar with Ozi, which has heaps of features I use often, so new hardware and learning another application isn't high on the list.
Thanks, and cheers,
Graham
